Some people are totally against witches charging for their services. I do not align myself with that belief and here is why.
Recently I was browsing social media and stumbled across a heated discussion regarding witches charging for their services.
Some had views that it's against the whole belief of helping and healing for witches and others stated that they are not opposed it in the least.
I personally offer services along with other offerings of talisman, candles, scry mirrors, oils, and conjures.
I charge for my services. It's what I do. It's what I've become masterful at. I have studied and worked hard through the years to hone my knowledge, gifts, and skills into something that can offer support, help, and change in people's lives for the better. Isn't that what a lawyer, carpenter, or artist does? You go to a doctor when you are ill, in pain, or suffering...and you expect to be charged for the visit. You're paying for their knowledge and ability. I call same when it comes to my services and offerings.
Now, I personally try to keep my pricing at a reasonable level to cover my expenses and time for the service, product, or offering. However, that is subjective as well to a degree right? Your general practitioner is going to charge less than a specialist would. Your doctor in Kansas is probably not charging what a doctor in Beverly Hills is for the same level of service. Doesn't mean that the Beverly Hills doctor is better than the Kansas one? No! It just means that his/her fees are able to be supported by outside circumstance.
It's a balance too though! I often offer free community spells and services in my private Facebook group: Witchful Ways of Annikas Magickal Arts.
I feel that there needs to be some support to those that simply can not afford any luxuries in life at that moment and I'm happy to offer that. However, if you're in my group, you've given me your email address...so there is still an exchange of 'energy' for the service to a degree. Something that I personally feel is necessary for any service to have value to you.
So although I agree with witches charging for their services, I feel that YOU should be diligent in making sure that you are getting to know your magickal practitioner.
Back when I first started offering online services in 2009 there were not a whole lot of people that used their true identities in the metaphysical community. I feel that was with good reason as it wasn't an area that was as accepted as it is now. But in today's day and age witches and practitioners are out there for everyone to see! (Yay!) Although names may be magickal ones instead of birth ones (like mine), they still connect and offer of themselves authentically.
When you're looking for your next magickal service, offering, or created product shop around just like you would for any other provider of that service, offering, or product. When you find one that you love...love on them and support them because it will be returned to you tenfold!
Keep in mind that prices will vary as well as knowledge and experience. Just be diligent. I'd personally be quite wary of someone with no personal pics offering a 14 day spell for $8.88. Just sayin'.
So I don't do what I do for the money. I do it as it's what I'm called to do. To help, to support, to spread love, and to bring joy and changes into the world and to my clients and customers. I'm not working to get rich, heck...I'm far from it. But I do give my all to each and every offering, and for that I deserve to be compensated just as you do when you give your energy to your workplace.
With blessings of love for a wonderfully magickal day!
